LyondellBasell donates $3,000 for VC Tutoring Center

LyondellBasell recently donated $3,000 to the Victoria College Foundation that will be awarded to VC’s Tutoring Center for the purchase of four Microsoft Surface Pro laptop computers.

“We believe in education, and we are always happy to have an opportunity to help students better themselves,” said LyondellBasell Victoria Site Manager Greg Cannon. “We look forward to seeing how Victoria College can use this money to help improve peoples’ lives.”

“We are ecstatic that we will be able to utilize the equipment to better serve our students,” said VC Testing Center Director Donna Rodriguez. “The Microsoft Surface Pro laptops will allow math tutors to create worksheets with the recorded step-by-step process, then upload to our Information Rack on the Tutoring Center website. Because of the Surface Pros’ size, tutors will have numerous resources at their fingertips.”

Victoria College offers free tutoring services to all VC students. Victoria College provides tutors in two locations on VC’s Main Campus and one location at VC’s Gonzales Center. Students who are unable to visit a Tutoring Center in person can submit an online tutoring request at VictoriaCollege.edu/Explore/Students/TutoringCenter.
